NAHRLS Board Members

Dr Jane Truscott - Chairperson, Bundaberg
PhD, MBA, MS, APRN-BC (USA), NP (Aust)

Dr Truscott is the Chairperson on the NAHRLS Board. Prior to working with the NAHRLS, Jane worked in a variety of clinical and management roles in Australia and the United States within acute and community health care delivery. She has a PhD in Nursing in which she examined outcomes of a nurse home visitation program model for first time, low-income mothers in the United States. Jane is currently an advisor to the Queensland Government Health Quality and Complaints Commission and has lead the development and implementation of a chronic disease management program for Indigenous Australians living in Queensland. She is a nurse practitioner with interest in chronic disease management, disease prevention and health promotion strategies in primary health care, and development and implementation of eLearning for health practitioners.

Glenn Keys
Glenn Keys is the CEO and Managing Director of Aspen Medical. Glenn’s career covers a broad range of businesses, from start-up’s to US multinationals. After a distinguished career in the Australian Army, where he covered a range of tasks, from test flying to managing all elements of the logistics support for Army aircraft, Glenn was responsible for the establishment of a number of new businesses, either as start-ups or as new business units in global corporations. Glenn has worked in a number of international locations, including Europe, Indonesia and Malaysia. Glenn’s focus on customer service, coupled with detailed project management, has lead to the success of a broad range of ventures.
 
 
Paul Ekin-Smyth
Paul Ekin-Smyth is the General Manager of Aspen Medical. Paul joined Aspen in January 2008. After a distinguished career in the Royal Australian Air Force, where he specialised in the management of major capital acquisitions and the provision of combat support and rose to be the senior logistics officer of the Service, he embarked on a commercial career applying the skills and experience gained in over 25 years in a variety of positions in Australia and overseas. Paul was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his distinguished military service in 2003.
 
 
 
 
Craig Fitzgerald
Craig served 20 years in the Australian Army predominately as an officer in the Australian Infantry Corps. During this period he held a number of Command and Staff appointments in Australia and overseas. Craig has extensive experience in the successful management of human, physical, information, infrastructure and financial resources across a diverse range of projects. He is responsible for the implementation and performance of all Aspen Projects as well as overseeing the operations of the Aspen Foundation.
Jawad Hayder
Jawad comes to NAHRLS from Aspen Medical where he previously worked as an Accounts Officer before being promoted to Accountant - Financial Reporting. When NAHRLS was formed in June 2011, Jawad was appointed Secretary of the Board. Jawad has a Masters in Accounting, a Bachelor of Commerce, is a Chartered Accountant and is a Member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP).
 
 
 
 
 
 
Julia Coyle
Julia joined the NAHRLS board in June 2011 and brings considerable experience after a clinical career of 20 years in which she gained experience in metropolitan, remote and regional areas. This experience fostered commitment to improving health care for Inland communities of Australia. Julia trained and worked as a physiotherapist in London in the United Kingdom and in 1985 came to Australia. Julia is an Associate Professor for the Charles Sturt University (CSU) where she integrates work at CSU with partnerships with rural communities in support of the education of rural health professionals and research into improving rural workforce.
